Visit to the NTC

On Saturday 24th Feb, eight players from Congleton Lawn Tennis Club took part in a 24-hour tennis-a-thon at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, organised by Bright Idea’s for Tennis, a charity lead by ex-English tennis pro Danny Sapsford.

Taking part were Rob McNinch, Nick Wilkins, Kerry Hall, Lindsay Newton, Gillian White, Simon McCasey, Eileen Griggs and Ray Masson.

Great fun was had by all, as Congleton covered the 8pm till 12 midnight slots, playing against former British number One Katie O’Brien, Davis Cup member James Auckland, British title winner Sean Hodkin,  Matt Beacher and of course Danny himself.

All funds raised come back to the club to support two projects, the “old clubhouse” project, and setting up a disability tennis program at the club with the help of Bright Ideas for Tennis.
